Test Automation Engineer (Java) – Edinburgh, Hybrid
 
We are seeking a skilled Test Automation Engineer (or Software Development Engineer in Test – SDET) to join our client in Edinburgh. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the automated testing of various company applications, including desktop, mobile apps, and APIs, using Java.

About the Role:
As a Test Automation Engineer, you will collaborate with multiple teams to ensure the quality of the company’s applications. Key responsibilities include:
  • Conducting and documenting detailed exploratory testing.
  • Designing and developing automated tests based on business rules and behaviors.
  • Reviewing user interfaces for design, functionality, and usability.
  • Interpreting and reporting test results, while advocating for quality.
  • Quickly adapting to shifting priorities to meet business needs.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to company standards for change control.
 
What You'll Bring:
  • Strong experience with Java (since most tests are written in Java).
  • Proven expertise in test automation.
  • Experience with test frameworks such as Selenium, TestNG, or JUnit.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD technologies in the SDLC.
  • Ability to design and prioritize test cases for both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Experience working with Linux OS, and ideally, knowledge of cloud-based technologies like Kubernetes.
