Head of Software Development - Hybrid – Glasgow
 
Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for driving innovation in software development? We're looking for a Head of Software Development to lead, inspire, and grow a talented team of developers, QA engineers, and architects.

About the Role:
You will lead a large, diverse team to ensure the successful completion of cutting-edge projects to the highest standards. Your leadership will be key in fostering a positive, productive environment that empowers your team to excel.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Business Unit Leaders, senior teams, and department heads.
  • Set a clear standard for success and quality within the team, ensuring everyone understands their role.
  • Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies and trends to stay ahead of the curve.
  • Maintain departmental and business certifications with timely actions.
  • Continuously assess team capabilities against industry trends and provide training to ensure skills remain current.
  • Lead a team of 35 Software Engineers, Testers, and Architects.
 
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Proven experience growing teams, expanding capabilities, and integrating new offerings.
  • Strong quality-focused mindset, with experience in managing and evolving an integrated QA team.
  • Experience in managing team performance and driving results.
  • Senior stakeholder management experience.
  • Confident in pitching, presenting, and leading strategic discussions.
