Director of Engineering – Edinburgh Hybrid

 

Are you a software Director or Head of Software who can build and scale successful enterprise level software teams?

 

If so, we may have the perfect role for you! The company are a Software/Analytics company and have close to 2000 employees in several locations, serving customers in nearly 80 countries.

 

As Director of Software, you will be responsible for leading a large software development team including Software Development Managers, Architects, Senior Engineers and Engineers. You will be responsible for leading many of the company’s world-class engineering teams.

 

In this role you will be:

 

· Building, coaching, mentoring, and managing teams of engineering managers, principal engineers, and software engineers across multiple locations.

· You will show accomplished leadership, mentorship, and guidance to your team members and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.

· You will be heavily involved in galvanising agile development practices, coding standards, code reviews, testing frameworks, and deployment processes to ensure quality and reliability of the software products.

· Developing and keeping tabs on performance

· Identifying and resolving technical issues

· Driving continuous improvement

· Working and collaborating with other directors.

 

 

The key must have skills for this role are:

· Experience managing and leading teams of 80+ people in Software Engineering

· Experience working for a large-scale enterprise company

· The desire to travel with the role once a quarter

· A background in Software Engineering is a must but the tech stack isn’t as important. The company currently work with AWS, Python, C# and React so a familiarity with this would be beneficial although the role does not involve hands on coding.
