Following our recent Investors In People assessment we are delighted to be awarded Investors in People Silver Award!
Investors in People
Timing is everything, as they say. We were due to renew our Investors in People (IIP) status in 2020 - after working hard to obtain Silver a few years earlier - and along came a global pandemic. After a subsequent delay to our assessment, we are thrilled to announce that we have successfully retained our Silver Accredited IIP Award!
Paul Devoy, CEO of Investors in People, said: "We'd like to congratulate Bright Purple. Silver accreditation on We invest in people is a remarkable effort for any organisation, and places Bright Purple in fine company with a host of organisations that understand the value of people."
IIP assessment 2023
At the time of our previous IIP assessment we were all working from our corporate offices in Edinburgh on a daily basis. As a team, we were together, face to face, learning and growing - and our culture felt like a given. Hybrid and remote working were not a consideration, and yet that is where we are today in the new era of work.
We currently have a hybrid remote working model, with some fully remote workers. During the last few years we have worked harder than ever to show that we are committed to our employees, to be an employer who cares about them and do our best to develop their careers as Bright Purple People.
Working with Lorna Moffat at IIP has been an incredibly worthwhile exercise, and while we are not perfect, we have a clear goal for continuous improvement. We want to thank all employees for their contribution and dedication, because this accreditation is a great achievement for all of us. Only 23% of organisations achieve silver and at the crux of it, it means that the right principles are in place but more than that, it means all of us are making active efforts to make sure we are consistent and that everyone in the organisation feels the effects!
What this means for our employees
Building on our IIP assessment and accreditation, we are excited to explore and implement more employee-led changes to the business, as well as utilising help from our HR network to make Bright Purple the best workplace it can be. As always, our company values will be at the centre of everything we do. Watch this space!
Nick Price, CEO says:
"Let's be honest, we were a different organisation to the 2020 Bright Purple, and we've learned many lessons; not always easy ones. Even I had to learn that we could still thrive as hybrid employees, old dogs can in fact learn new tricks it seems! And now, post-Covid, it feels a bit like a blank piece of paper. We can imagine a "new look firm", a better firm than it's ever been over its 28 years. We are looking ahead to what we can achieve, for both our people and our business and it goes without saying, there's no business without fully engaged staff and we have a duty to provide an environment that supports the growth of our people.
Over the next two months we will issue a new, exciting five-year vision for Bright Purple, which will include an overhaul of our governance structure and the training and development plans of our people. As my time to step down from the top seat fast approaches, it's vital that the next generation of Bright Purple leaders have a solid base to build on and continue our success- and I am confident that will happen."
