We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Test Specialist based in Edinburgh.
Our client is one of the leading financial services employers in the region at present and they are looking for a Technical Test Specialist on a permanent basis.
The main purpose of the role is to offer an SME/Consultancy type service across portfolios, with prime focus on functional test automation discipline, which will guide various teams that test through to production and apply knowledge transfer from various sources for a more efficient delivery.
The successful candidate will evaluate and improve the current non-functional test automation standards
This is a great opportunity to join a brand new team.
Provides inputs and assistance to Test Optimisation Manager for overall company's Test Policy and Test Strategy.
Recommend a non-functional automation test approach & Strategy for different portfolios within the company (i.e. Performance Testing, Load & Stress testing of data and concurrent users)
Implement non-functional automation testing standards and testing best practice across the Group, and ensure Best Practice is being adhered to on projects until final resolution (i.e. adequate response time, memory leaks checks, throughput analysis)
Provide training and consultancy on non-functional Test Automation Best Practise to test teams within all company's portfolios.
Promotes the use of non-functional automation and the re-use of frameworks to avoid manual effort and re-work.
Collaborates with 3rd party delivery partners on testing, statements of work and feeding back on performance.
Inputs to MTP planning and portfolio shaping activities across the Group
What we're looking for
Working knowledge of the Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid software development life cycles
Has deep knowledge of non-functional test automation strategies, best practices and non-functional automation tools with focus on Desktop, Web and Mobile applications at integration, system, UAT and OAT levels
Has deep knowledge of non-functional test automation at API, GUI, Database, Services and ETL levels
Working knowledge of some of these tools: Performance Centre, Silk, JMeter, SoapUI / Postman, Selenium Webdriver, Jenkins
Working knowledge of some of these programming languages: JAVA, Python, C#, Ruby
Has successfully led test teams to deliver complex solutions
Practical experience of documenting and implementing Testing Best Practice, Governance, Quality Gates and Quality Assurance on multiple concurrent projects
Commercial experience in operational management of 3rd party suppliers.
Experience of implementing and managing 3rd party delivery models.
Experience of reviewing and choosing non-functional test automation methods and tools
Skills that will help you in the role
Working knowledge of the Automation Test Pyramid and Agile Quadrants
Non Functional test automation experience using API, GUI
Experience using Selenium, Performance Centre, JMeter, SoapUI, Jenkins.
Working knowledge of Java, Python, C# and Ruby programming languages
