We have an exciting opportunity for a SQL / Oracle Technician based in Glasgow.
Our client is one of the leading financial services employers in the region at present and they are looking for a SQL / Oracle Technician on a permanent basis.
In this role you will…
Work with project teams to deliver Oracle and MS SQL Server databases.
Support and problem solve on all Live production databases alongside databases utilised for testing.
Keep knowledge current with Oracle and MS SQL Server Database Technologies.
Be open about learning and supporting other technologies
Our work is highly specialised, high profile and fast paced, so you will be expected to self-manage in a professional and proactive manner in conjunction with your Manager who will assign your tasks.

Supporting live service through proactive identification of risk, swift resolution of live issues and proposing appropriate fixes/improvements for future
Working closely with Infrastructure Designers and Project Managers to ensure solutions meet the organisation's strategic needs

Improving our processes through process automation, innovation and continuous improvement.

We would like you to have...
An understanding and experience supporting Oracle (10g, 11g and 12c)
Experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server Environments (2008 R2, 2012, 2014 and 2016)
Experience maintaining Oracle Data Guard
Experience of using Oracle Cloud Control
Knowledge of Flashback Technology
Exposure to Oracle RMAN backup and Recovery processes
Oracle Tuning and Optimisation skills
Production Support experience
Linux, AIX, and Solaris Operating System Experience
