I am recruiting for a Senior Developer for a contract role based in Glasgow for an impressive company.

Primary Responsibilities

Implementation of the Cyber Analytics strategic Insider Threat Platform

*Work in the area of Cyber Analytics in a senior developer role.
*Develop components for big data platforms related to data ingestion, storage, transformations and analytics. Responsibilities also include integration with backend platform using various tools and scripts.
*Following firm defined SDLC processes and tools
*Collaborate with other developers and architects to enhance the capabilities of the platforms
*Assist in cross-team collaboration and design discussions

Skills required (essential)
*Work on large-scale, custom-designed, enterprise-level software development projects using languages and technologies such as Java, Scala, Python
*Proven experience in Information Technology and Systems
*Proven experience with Big data distribution and analytics
*Proven experience in data modeling, relational and dimensional
*UI development experience including HTML, JavaScript, CSS, REST APIs
*Strong interpersonal skills
*Experience with different agile methodologies such as Scrum/Kanban/XP
*Experience must consist of hands-on experience with a full project life-cycle implementation with the following features:
o Data volumes in terabytes with vertical and horizontal scalability
o Structured and unstructured/semi-structured data
o High speed querying
o Analytics use cases including in-memory processing
o Security
o Metadata management
o Experience with version control systems, such as Perforce/Git and are familiar with Continuous Integration/Deployment tools
*How to use Unix systems and command line tools
*Experience working with Agile, Lean and/or Continuous Delivery approaches and best practices.
*Ability to work in a variety of client settings and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Skills desired

*Splunk Certified Power User Certification
*Splunk developer including experience of:
o Splunk Search Processing Language (SPL)
o Splunk custom app development
o Splunk advanced dashboard and visualization development
o Managing knowledge objects
o Data models
o Summary indexes
*Experience of cyber security investigations and understanding of cyber threat landscape
*Experience of machine learning development
*Experience of Big Data development (Hadoop and Apache Spark)
*Experience of Apache Kafka, Apache Zeppelin and Kibana
*Willingness to learn new technologies
*Experience working for a globally distributed organization
*Industry experience using AngularJS, Angular 2
*Industry experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript
