IR35 August 2019
The purpose of this communication is to give you insight into how we at Bright Purple plan to handle the changes to legislation governing IR35 and our plans to support you from here.
We have a project team that have been working towards the changes in Off-payroll Working Rules known as ‘IR35’ in April 2020. We have chosen to take consultation and advice from The Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo).
When the draft legislation was released on 11th July 2019 there were no surprises in the content, although we note with some disappointment that the advice and commentary of major industry players and businesses don’t appear to have been considered at this stage.
The next key date is this month as the Government are due to issue detailed guidance on the changes including ‘reasonable care’ relating to how roles are deemed to inside or outside of IR35.
We are planning to issue a guide to you with details of what how we will handle the changes and what you need to do. We can’t press ahead with that with any certainty until the guidance is published. We are looking to consult with you about the legislation in September as we’re keen to hear your views at this time of change.
To facilitate that consultation and that discussion, Bright Purple will host candidate forums designed for you to be able to have open discussion, learn about our approach to working with you and end clients, whilst enjoying a light refreshment and pizza.
