The Power of Donation!
At Bright Purple we recently upgraded our technology to the latest faster PC's, bigger wide screens and of course camera's so that we are never more than a click from being face to face with our customers and candidates.
What to do with the old kit?
Well they say one man's junk is another mans treasure and we like to make a difference at Bright Purple so our IT guru Mark Murphy got in touch with COMPUTERAID. The rest is a fantastic story...
We’d like to thank you for your donation of IT equipment to Computer Aid. Your equipment has received a second lease of life, and is now being used in two countries! The first, is our long standing partner The Ethiopian Knowledge and Technology Transfer Society (EKTTS), and the second is our Zimbabwe eClass project in rural Harare.
EKTTS is a non-governmental organisation which supports the Ethiopian education system through development projects such as Books for Schools, Computers for Schools, Public Library Support, E-waste Management and Prison Library Support. Thanks to your machines schools and libraries will have improved access to technology, enabling them to learn valuable IT skills and access digital information.
Your machines are enabling similar in Zimbabwe, where they'll support one of the 10 schools that are receiving eClasses for the first time. The project is supported by in country partners Worldlinks Zimbabwe and ICDL Africa who will maintain the labs and providing training in IT literacy and teaching. The project is in it's early stage of distribution, but you'll be able to follow its developments on the Computer Aid website!
On behalf of our partners, and from everybody at Computer Aid, thank you!
